Christina Perry shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Christina , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Walking outside. I know it sounds so simple but walking is my relief. I can get lost for hours just taking in all the beauty of nature. I never considered myself an outside person but the older I get the more I appreciate the simple things. The fresh air, the birds chirping, a sound of a stream running, the warm breeze, I love it so much!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Christina Perry the creator of BodyLove, a holistic women’s wellness brand helping women in my community prioritize health, strength, and self-love. Through signature programs, virtual challenges, and empowering events, I make wellness accessible and sustainable for busy women especially moms. My unique approach blends fitness, mindful nutrition, and community, redefining wellness as more than just workouts, but a lifestyle of confidence and joy. BodyLove was born from my journey, but it’s here to empower yours.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mom, she always made sure I was happy. I always wanted to “fit in” as most kids do and she wouldn’t let me settle for anything less than my best. Anytime I asked her opinion on something she always led with “Do you like it?”or “Are you happy?”. She showed at a an early age to go with my first mind and that following the crowd isn’t going to help me accomplish my goals. Forever grateful for those lessons because that really has help me in developing my business more than she will ever understand. I’m so grateful.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, when my mom passed away from cancer I did give up. I felt so defeated as a health and wellness coach. I took an entire year off from my business to focus on me, my family, my mental health, and home life. I had no intention of continuing my business but I have a purpose so strong that it couldn’t be ignored. My pain turned into power; a calling to help as many women as I can regain or learn how to live a healthier lifestyle. What started with myself following my own path influenced thousands of other women to tune in. You can walk away from that kind of calling on your life and I didn’t.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes and that’s one of the things I’m most proud of. My lifestyle is not an aesthetic, this is really me. I am a 7 year vegetarian, 2 years and counting of sobriety, my hobbies are walking, working out, pilates, tennis, cooking, planting, spending my time with family and friends. I found myself and what makes me happy so what you see online is what you in person. I love it here!
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What will you regret not doing?
I will forever regret not starting sooner. I’m fully aware we can’t turn back the hands of time but when you know better you do better and that exactly what I would have done, BETTER. Made better choices, started taking my health serious sooner, spent more time with my loved ones, and etc. Of course it’s better late than never so I am grateful that I was able to make necessary changes before it was too late.
