We recently had the chance to connect with Cheri Regis and have shared our conversation below.
Cheri, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
What I am most proud of building that nobody sees (well, nobody except a few of my close friends) is my online website as well as myself. Not only am I building both of these things, I’m also rebuilding them as I had to set them aside for a while as me and my family were undergoing several life changes at the time. But now I’m in the process of rebuilding my website, myself and my lines of work.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Cheri Regis, and my brand/business is called Cheri Regis Works, an online art, craft and design studio specializing in designing and creating uniquely made fine art and artisan goods for all ages. What makes CRW special and interesting is that it is well known for its handcrafted toys, with a focus on soft dolls and animals both for children and children at heart. Right now I am currently working on a new line of dolls called the Side Eyed Gang.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
When I was a kid, I believed that not only did I not belong in any group but I also believed that no one wanted me around. Today nothing could be further from the truth!
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are different and unusual…in a really good way. Don’t blend in.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That as long as it follows and caters to trends and hype, it’ll be sustainable and desirable. Everyone and everything isn’t protected and that we are susceptible to change, whether it’s good or not.

That I made really nice and unique work that made them happy and put a smile on their face.
