Meet Stephanie Jameson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Jameson.

Stephanie Jameson

Hi Stephanie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in the Northland in the Park Hill School district.    I attended William Jewell College as an undergrad and played on the tennis team. I met my husband David there and got married today (14 years ago). I went to Miami, Florida, for Podiatric medical school for 4 years. I then went to Loyola University residency for 3 years in Chicago. I moved back to Kansas City after and I’m going on 10 years at Kansas City Foot and Ankle Practice. I live in Leawood. I am married to boy/girl twins who are age 7. I also have a German Shepard. I love what I do. I love treating ages 0-100+, sports injuries, and pediatrics.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
I never stopped school. Of course, being across the country in medical school but was good for us 🙂 Having twins and working full time never take a break. The struggle is balancing. No perfect balance, but always strive for it. I want to be present with my kids and spend every second away from work with them.

Thanks for sharing that. So, you could tell us a bit more about your work.
I’m proud to be a female in health care doing what I love daily, being able to do what some would consider “little” procedures on small areas of the body and providing great relief fast and painless. I am a people person. Therefore I am in the clinic 80% of my time seeing patients and about 20% of the time in surgery. Proud to be a female surgeon 🙂 I’m a pretty good mom. Patience is my thing—both at work and home. Don’t get worked up often. Have an amazing relationship with all my staff. Many of them have been there my entire 10 years. I’m fun! I dance and do handstands at work (not in the patient room) but just when being fun with the staff. I don’t take myself seriously.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Yes, slowing down and doing nothing is a good thing! Quality time with the special people in my life. And continue this now.
