Community Highlights: Meet Presley Busenbarrick of Presley Pierce

Today we’d like to introduce you to Presley Busenbarrick.

Hi Presley, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My grandmother is the ultimate host. I used to love to bring my childhood friends over to her home and showcase her home and entertainment skills! I knew that I’d want to somehow give that same experience to people daily. Adding my passion for decorating, opening a shop was the perfect solution.

I wanted to bring an experience to Atchison, something that feels like a little party happening every day. So in honor of my grandmother as the inspiration, I named the shop Presley Pierce. Pierce is her maiden name and also my middle name, it just felt like the perfect fit.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I call it a beautiful, winding road. It’s had its moments where it feels as if it’s a smooth straight path that you can just glide on. But it’s also had its curves and turns as well. Weeks before opening day, I had a huge order canceled due to shipping problems. I needed that order more so than ever.

Luckily, I like to rethink and change often. So, I changed the look of our fall by completely ordering from a different company and an entirely different look. But we’ve luckily had lots of smooth roads so far!

Presley Pierce is a little shop located in downtown Atchison, KS. We thrive on carrying unique pieces that feel like taking home little treasures. We carry seasonal, every day, and home accessories. I am so proud to carry all price ranges for every person. I thrive on people being able to spend three dollars, thirty dollars, three hundred dollars, etc.

Everyone can find something to add to their homes at any budget. I also thrive on creating an experience! We have in the shop at the moment a full-sized truck bed loaded up with Christmas right when we enter in. Creating a wow factor so that our customers have an enjoyable experience is a top priority!

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I have so many great people in my life that help and support my dream! My grandmother and mother are owed lots of credit for this adventure. In more ways than one, they are so involved. My wonderful family donates their time to work all my open houses. I thank them for making everything run so smoothly.

I credit my amazing team that works at Presley Pierce daily. The behind-the-scenes can still be fun but definitely is hard work. I am definitely not a one-man show, so I thank them for believing in this dream and helping push it to its highest level.
