Today we’d like to introduce you to Christy Pattison.
Hi Christy , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Our family business started more as a spark of an idea then anything else. My husband and I purchased the property in the early 2000’s and as an avid music lover. my husband believed it naturally lended itself to an outdoor music venue. The rest was history. Over the last 22 years we have developed our property into a secluded getaway for groups, families, and people seeking solitude. The property features two stages, a beer garden, walking trails, wooded and open campsites, a shower house, and ample outdoor game areas. We hosted music festivals for close to a decade and now enjoy the quieter life of private events, a summer concert series, family movie nights, and glamping. Cedar Hill has been a beautiful labor of love for our family that we have enjoyed sharing with our community.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Actually, it’s been amazing. All of our buildings were designed and built by my husband, son in law, and a handful of amazing friends. While every business has its ups and downs, I can honestly say Cedar Hill has been a huge unifier for our family and a beautiful legacy for future generations.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
If you create something you love, its hard to not be happy.
