Life & Work with Alexis Chicalas of Kansas City Metropolitan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Chicalas.

Hi Alexis, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been a visionary.

Even as a young girl, I knew I was meant to use my gifts to help others-especially women. There was this quiet fire in me, one that told me I was never meant to live inside a box or follow someone else’s path. After graduating college, I spent two years freelancing, sharpening my skills and building relationships. But deep down, I knew there was more waiting for me.

I’ve always been ambitious-not just for myself, but for the future I wanted to create. I believed in dreaming big, even when people told me those dreams were “too much.” Especially as a woman, I’ve felt the weight of expectations: to shrink, to play it safe, to put others first and ourselves last. But I refused to settle.

When I became a mom to my sweet 3-year-old, and now with another baby on the way, my purpose only grew stronger. I wanted to show the world that motherhood and ambition can exist in the same space. That women don’t have to choose between nurturing a family and chasing a dream. I wanted to build a life where I could be both: a present, loving mother and a woman who never stopped striving for more.

Kansas City became home nearly three years ago, and it has been the most unexpected blessing. The community here-especially the incredible women I’ve met-have inspired and encouraged me in ways I’ll never forget. These women reminded me that I wasn’t alone. That chasing your dreams isn’t just brave-it’s necessary.

So, I created Nude Digital.

A space where creativity, strategy, and womanhood intersect. A brand built on authenticity, bold ideas, and the belief that you can be both-soft and strong, a mother and a CEO, grounded and wildly ambitious.

Through Nude Digital, I get to empower other women-owned businesses, tell their stories, and bring their visions to life. I want my kids to see that anything is possible when you believe in yourself, put in the work, and never let the world dim your light.

This journey hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been mine-and that makes it beautiful.

I’m just a girl who decided to go for it. And this is only the beginning.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The truth is—I’m still figuring so much out. This journey has been full of trial and error. From learning how to actually run a business to finding the right clients who align with my values, nothing about starting Nude Digital came with a manual. I didn’t know a thing about owning a creative agency when I began. I just had a vision, a gut feeling, and the drive to create a life with more freedom and purpose.

But no one tells you that when you’re first starting out, you are every part of the business. You’re the creative, the strategist, the assistant, the accountant, the social media manager—everything. There were many moments I found myself pouring in more than I was receiving, feeling drained and wondering if I got my purpose all wrong.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that you can’t say yes to everything—or everyone. Not every opportunity is meant for you. I’ve had to learn the power of saying no, of setting boundaries I had never even considered before. And while it’s been uncomfortable at times, those boundaries are what keep me aligned with the business—and life—I truly want to build.

What keeps me going is knowing that every obstacle brings a lesson. Even in the messiest, most uncertain seasons, there is always something to learn and always a way to grow. I may not have it all figured out, but I’m committed to evolving, to showing up, and to making Nude Digital a space rooted in purpose, even through the hard days.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Nude Digital was created with a bold mission: to help women-led and purpose-driven brands show up confidently, creatively, and authentically in the digital world. Our purpose is to empower entrepreneurs-especially women-to build brands that reflect who they truly are, without feeling like they have to fit into a mold.

At Nude Digital, we believe that strategy and aesthetics can-and should-coexist. We’re here to elevate your brand’s presence with intentional marketing, standout content, and storytelling that resonates. Whether you’re a startup finding your voice or an established brand ready for your next level, our goal is to be the partner that helps you get there with clarity, creativity, and heart.

Beyond the services, Nude Digital exists to create a space where women feel seen, supported, and inspired to chase their dreams unapologetically. We’re not just building brands-we’re helping build legacies.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of my husband and family. My husband has been my biggest cheerleader from the very beginning-believing in me even when I doubted myself. He’s been my motivation, my safe space, and the one constantly reminding me that my big dreams are worth chasing. His encouragement has fueled me through the hardest moments, and I’m endlessly grateful for the love and support he pours into everything I do.

I also owe so much to some incredible women of Kansas City. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed into communities full of strength, inspiration, and sisterhood. These women have encouraged me, lifted me up, and reminded me that there’s space for all of us to grow, lead, and thrive. Their presence in my life has been nothing short of powerful—and I carry their influence with me every step of the way.
