Meet KCEMO of Kansas City

Today we’d like to introduce you to KCEMO

Hi KCEMO, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
KCEMO formed in ‘22 by 4 seasoned kc musicians who bonded over the nostalgic 00’s emo/punk rock scene, and wanted to relive the glory days of The Warped tour.

From playing any venue/bar that would have us that first year, we quickly gained a following that craved this style of music and over the last 2 years. We have played in front of thousands of people and played some venues we would only dream of.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We have had our normal share of struggles that any band will eventually go through, but one of the biggest obstacles that comes to mind was our Blink 182 after party at PNL. Blink unfortunately had to cancel and while it was normal to have a panic reaction, we were able to turn that into one of the best and biggest show of our career, all thanks to the fans and their support in numbers! (Not to mention we got to play 2 hours of Blink 182 since no one got to experience the real thing, so win win haha)

-Jon Groves on lead vocals and guitar.
-Carlos Garcia on bass and vocals
-Freddie Aguirre on drums
-Paul Ryan on lead guitar and vocals

We play 4 hours of NONSTOP emo covers. We also have 3 other projects/concerts we put on:

Drink 182 (blink 182 tribute band)
A Linkin Park tribute band, and another project in the works that we’re pretty excited about.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
We definitely took a risk forming this band, let alone book shows. We didn’t know if it would be a waste of time, effort, or if anyone would even want to see us perform. Each show we absolutely wonder if anybody will even show up, but again, our friends and fans come out in troops ready to party with us, and we try to give them the best possible show we can in return, hopefully we achieve that.
