Rising Stars: Meet KT Maschler of Waldo

Today we’d like to introduce you to KT Maschler.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is KT Maschler, and I am the host of The Quest for New Inspiration and the founder of New Inspiration Media.

In 2020 I started my new self-produced podcast, The Quest for New Inspiration, where I interview all types of people about their own encouraging personal stories in the hopes of inspiring anyone that presses play. One podcast reviewer states, “It’s incredible to see people that get overlooked for the things they do become the center of attention.

Born and raised in a Jayhawk, I attended the University of Kansas and graduated with a marketing degree from the school of business in 2019. I found my love for podcasting through the podcast ‘My Favorite Murder ‘by Karen Killgariff and Georgia Hardstark. After binging all the episodes, I began to branch out and explore the podcast platforms. In other words, I found the vast world of podcasting to be fascinating and loved the ability to find a podcast about pretty much anything you can imagine. I jumped at the opportunity to become a sound engineer and producer for the Home Builder Digital Marketing Podcast. for Blue Tangerine. As a result, I quickly fell headfirst into the podcasting world.
Then, I started The Quest for New Inspiration when I needed some inspiration. My goal is to share inspirational stories from all types of people in hopes of inspiring anyone that presses play. By sharing this podcast, I am challenging myself to improve my confidence while growing my podcasting and networking skills.

I started New Inspiration Media, a marketing agency specializing in all things digital, along with the podcast. I’ve worked closely to grow brands’ social media presence, podcasts, and marketing strategies since 2018. The times may have changed, but my love for creativity and problem-solving hasn’t. I’m driven by technology and innovation to ensure I fulfill our key mission of helping our clients find their successful futures.

I have recently been featured on Legrity TV “That’s what she said” – by Kimberly Love. We discussed overcoming chronic illnesses and anxiety! Another notable accomplishment of The Quest for New Inspiration was featured alongside Brené Brown’s Dare to Lead podcast in the “14 Inspirational Podcasts That Will Change Your Mindset for the Better” on Disrupt Magazine.

I love listening and singing to all types of music, from rap to broadway! I also have a deep-rooted passion for traveling to explore all kinds of cultures and delicious foods! Outside of podcasting, I spend my time with friends, family, and my fur Entourage ( pets, lol), and currently growing the marketing department at Colonial Gardens, a garden center reimaged.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Imposter Syndrome has been the most challenging part of starting your own podcast/business. At first, it kept me from reaching out to different people who might have valuable advice to share. At times still, the anxiety can creep back up in my head during an extensive interview, but I’ve learned to power through by truly believing in my mission and myself.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in social media content creation, brand strategy, and podcast editing and strategy. I am most proud of my work as an audio editor and podcast coordinator for episodes 1-80 of the Home Building Digital Marketing Podcast with Blue Tangerine and my podcast, The Quest for New Inspiration. I believe what sets me apart is I’m “bubbly but blunt” I’m always optimistic but not afraid to share my thoughts respectfully.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I believe podcasting will be a significant industry in the next 5-10 years, especially for strategic digital ad marketing. Podcasts are the perfect delivery system to connect with various audiences.
