Today we’d like to introduce you to Ki’anie Brooks.
Hi Ki’anie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Growing up as an active kid and playing multiple sports, exercise was not something that was unfamiliar to me. Commitment, dedication, determination and practice were taught to me to be the key components of becoming the best athlete I could be. I focused on that, letting it carry me through my career in sports and athletics, and went on to earn a double scholarship (track and field and football) at Baker University in 2010. Once that chapter in my life concluded, I thought to myself, what is the next step? How can I share my love and passion for health and fitness effectively and share the enjoyment of having a healthy and fit body with others? Being a Personal Trainer and a Coach is what I felt was meant for me to do. A way for me to help others look deeper, believe in themselves more and become better.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My career started at 24 Hour Fitness from 2013-2016. I thank that chapter of my life more than anything else because it not only taught me a lot about the business of personal training but it gave me the opportunity to meet a lot of wonderful people in the industry as well help so many achieve so much. But, it was also the there where I developed the faith and belief in myself to do it all on my own.
So in January 2016, I left the company as a whole and went independently starting that winter. It was the scariest moment in my career because there was a lot of sacrifice and so much to loss. Clients, I would loss, relocating and starting over… it just all was scary and not only that, I was newly engaged… the pressure was definitely on. But I will never forget a comment one of my clients made to me at that time of making that big decision. He exactly words, “I believe in you so much I would go with you anywhere. I much rather invest fully into you than give anyone else a piece of anything. So I say you do it..” I wanted to have the ability to reach and impact as many people as I possibly could and this was the way I would be able to do it. It was a sign from God that I needed to hear, so I listened.
Since that moment, there have been so may different obstacles but we have prevailed through them all. The Pandemic was of course the biggest moment of adversity but with the amazing support of my clients and the appropriate business planning ahead of the initial shutdown, we were about to prevail once again. And for that, I am grateful.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am Personal Trainer and Coach. My Philosophy is simple; the “Key” 2Fitness is developing the mindset that our health and wellness is our number one priority. Fitness isn’t something you just do; it is something you make a part of you. Everyday you wake up, it’s for a purpose. We proceed through our days with the mindset that we are moving one step closer to what our ultimate goal is. For the past eight years, I have lived by this day in and day out. How can I make today better than yesterday? What can I do now that will affect others positively in their lives for time to come? How can I effectively build myself but also build those around me? Health and fitness has always been a part of my life, but it was when I decided I wanted to share my passion to educate and improve others’ mindset around it is when I truly understood what it means to be fit and healthy.
What sets Ki2Fitness Personal Training apart from all the others is our Trainer and Client relationships extend beyond the results. As a trainer and coach, I make it a part of my client’s experience that the service they receive has genuine care, love and passion behind it. This meaning, I will go above and beyond to get you where you truly believed you could not. This bond is unmatched because you impact your clients personally and individually. The Ki2Fitness Family isn’t just a saying; it’s a TRUE statement.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I believe that my faith in God and his ability to take care of me if I put my all into him ruled luck out completely. Genuinely caring for every client as if it was myself is what makes the biggest difference in their lives. They will always know I am here if that need me beyond the results.
