Today we’d like to introduce you to Acacia Stichter. She shares her story with us below:
With a career spanning 20 years in four global cities and across print and digital; Acacia has had the opportunity to work with a broad range of products, publications and personalities, specializing in brand design and art direction.
From directing creative teams on Cosmopolitan and Cleo (Australia), launching Cosmopolitan Middle East and Stylist Arabia, and heading up the creative department on Harper’s Bazaar Arabia (Dubai). These roles gave her the opportunity to not only direct shoots with some of pop culture’s most iconic identities but to also be at the helm of these global titles as they took on the migration from print-only products to become a print-digital hybrid.
With experience covering food and beverage, beauty and sporting clients, she has been sought after for her unique style and expertise.
Now residing in Kansas City, Missouri Acacia has started her new creative agency Moody Squirrel and also works on creative projects with Operation Breakthrough, including its new Ignition Lab with Travis Kelce’s charity 87& Running as well as her Instagram account @kansascitytypography.
In a nutshell… moved to Kansas City and was amazed at all the amazing typography throughout the city. The vintage signs, artworks and storefronts and the Instagram account was a way to just capture all of these to enjoy.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
As it is just a hobby Kansas City Typography is just me capturing things I see or things I see on other local accounts that I like to give credit too.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
