Meet Kimeka Knight

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimeka Knight.

Kimeka, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story comes from my family background. I had an uncle that passed away that was uneducated with firearms like many people today. I decided to take it a step further with my journey in 2020 in firearms. I joined a program named USCCA.

With practice at the range, reading up on things to know in this industry, I eventually went to a class in 2021 through USCCA where I got the proper knowledge to become a firearms Instructor.

This truly made my family and friends proud. Prior to that, I had some experience with firearms but not a lot. I brought my first firearm about 6 years ago. I really had no idea of proper etiquette for using a firearm.

I thought I was keeping my children and myself safe, but I really wasn’t. With the knowledge I have today, I can teach classes and private sessions. I love educating people about firearms. My goal is to educate as many people as possible. Especially the youth in my community.

I plan to go to schools, camps, and such to continue educational awareness of firearms.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

In completion of my firearms class, I thought it would be hard, but it has been pretty smooth for me thus far. I have a strong foundation of supporters and faith in God. With help from a few mentors, God has opened doors for me; I am forever grateful.

I completed my class in December 2021 and I got a job in January 2022 as the only female firearm instructor at Claycomo Shooters. I also have my own business named Loc’d N Loaded, LLC. I provide services from concealed & carry classes, private range sessions, basic handgun classes for women, and much more.

In addition, I sell self-defense items from stun guns, pepper spray, knives, and more. The only struggle I’ve encountered thus far is people being misinformed on many things in the firearms industry.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

I’ve been working in the banking industry for 20 years. I work in Core Operations at UMB Bank. I also work at Claycomo Shooter in Claycomo, MO as the only Female Firearms Instructor.

I specialize in Concealed & Carry Classes, Individual training, Intro to Tactics, Situational awareness, and much more. I am most proud of myself for breaking barriers in this male-dominated industry as an African American Woman, setting goals for myself, and having great standards for my community.

Giving women of all ethnicities the courage to be fearless. What sets me apart from others is that I am motivated, ambitious, dedicated, and on a Mission!

What do you think about happiness?

What makes me happy is building someone’s confidence in the moment of joy, putting a smile on their face. Knowing I went above and beyond to help my community be responsible.

Pricing:

  • CCW $125
  • Private Lessons $65
  • Intro to Tactics $125
