Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie & Danielle Davis & Antes.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We first crossed paths at one of the most meaningful moments in life: the birth of Danielle’s third baby. Soon after, we found ourselves working side-by-side as nurses on a labor and delivery unit, caring for mothers and their newborns during those first precious hours after birth. In that intimate space, we saw firsthand how powerful those early moments can be — and how often families need more breastfeeding support than the hospital setting can provide.
Over time, it became impossible to ignore the gap. Parents were leaving the hospital with questions, stress, and self-doubt, and we knew we could do more. Together, we began dreaming about a different kind of care — one that met families where they are, both literally and emotionally. That vision slowly grew into our own lactation consulting practice.
Today, we bring evidence-based lactation support into families’ homes, offering personalized guidance grounded in both clinical expertise and mental-health-centered care. We understand that feeding your baby isn’t just a physical process; it’s deeply emotional and often overwhelming. Our approach honors both sides.
Launching our business has allowed us to combine our nursing backgrounds, our shared passion for advocacy, and our commitment to empowering parents. What started as two moms connecting in a delivery room has grown into a service we’re incredibly proud of — one that supports families through one of the most tender and transformative chapters of their lives.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of our biggest challenges has been meeting families where they are in a world that often puts enormous pressure on new parents — especially through social media. Everywhere mothers look, they’re faced with carefully curated images of “perfect” breastfeeding, “perfect” babies, and “perfect” postpartum recoveries. That constant comparison can leave women feeling like they’re falling short before they’ve even begun.
In our work, we often find ourselves helping parents untangle what they feel they should be doing from what their babies actually need — and what is truly realistic for their unique situation. Providing evidence-based, mentally supportive care means validating those feelings while offering clear, nonjudgmental guidance grounded in real science, not online expectations.
Starting a business while navigating these cultural pressures has been its own learning curve. We’ve had to advocate for a more compassionate and honest conversation around breastfeeding, build trust within our community, and educate families about the importance of individualized care. But every challenge has reinforced why we started in the first place: to give parents the support, clarity, and confidence they deserve.
As you know, we’re big fans of Nourished . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
What truly sets us apart is the level of convenience, compassion, and comprehensive care we bring directly to our clients’ homes. Many of our visits are covered by insurance — with most plans covering up to six sessions — which makes high-quality lactation support more accessible for families. By coming to our clients, we remove the stress of packing up a newborn and navigating appointments in those early days. Instead, parents can stay where they’re most comfortable, and we can observe feeding in the environment where it actually happens.
We also offer in-home prenatal education, giving families the chance to prepare for feeding before the baby arrives. This helps build confidence, reduces anxiety, and sets the foundation for a smoother postpartum experience.
We specialize in creating a calm, nurturing space for learning and healing — one that acknowledges how emotionally taxing new parenthood can be. We’re proud to empower mothers, support partners, and help families carve out a postpartum experience that feels more relaxed, connected, and realistic.
What we want readers to know is this: you don’t have to navigate breastfeeding or the fourth trimester alone. Our brand stands for individualized care, evidence-based guidance, and unwavering emotional support. We’re here to meet you exactly where you are — literally and figuratively — and to walk with you through your feeding journey with compassion, expertise, and encouragement.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
We feel incredibly fortunate for the support system that has helped shape our business and our mission. First and foremost, our families have been our foundation. We each have wonderfully supportive husbands who encouraged us to pursue this dream, step into entrepreneurship, and balance the demands of both motherhood and running a business. As mothers who have each breastfed four children, our own families have been our greatest teachers — reminding us daily of the realities, challenges, and joys our clients experience.
We also want to acknowledge the breastfeeding support we personally received during our own journeys. Those lactation consultants and caregivers not only helped us nurse our babies, but also planted the seeds of inspiration that ultimately led us to support others. Their guidance showed us how powerful compassionate, evidence-based care can be, and it played a huge role in shaping the way we practice today.
And of course, our clients deserve immense credit. Every family who has welcomed us into their home, trusted us, shared their stories, or recommended us to a friend has contributed to our growth. They motivate us to keep learning, keep improving, and keep advocating for better postpartum care.
Our business is truly a reflection of all these people — the ones who cheered us on, lifted us up, and reminded us why this work matters so much.
