Meet Denzel Hodges of Ruby Electric LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Denzel Hodges.

Hi Denzel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I got my start working for a small company that makes single family homes for low income families. The master electrician helped me get my license, enroll in school, and he held a class once a week after work to help us with school. After a few years I joined a large electrical contractor to get experience on commercial and industrial projects. I was able to get my journeyman license and work on a large variety of jobs. From wind farms, water treatments plants and convention centers to hospitals, hotels, and schools. Shortly after obtaining my master electrician license I started my own company.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest challenge was taking the first step and trusting God. Entrepreneurship is very different from the being an employee in ways I didn’t imagine. Thanks to the people I have met along the way I have been able to navigate the highs and lows.

As you know, we’re big fans of Ruby Electric LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We pride ourselves on doing things the right way. Electricity is dangerous and essential to life as we know it. We give people peace of mind knowing that not only does their installation look good but it is safely and professionally done.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
As a sports fan I love to see the unity of Chief and Royals fans. On the other hand the road work feels like a never ending battle.
