Meet Christy D. Wilson of D’Luxe Silhouette’s Body Sculpting and Esthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christy D. Wilson.

Hi Christy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always somehow ended up working in the medical field. I got my start as a certified nurse assistant in 1999. I enjoy helping others and the satisfaction that I get from doing such. I continued my education in 2015 and received an Associate’s degree in Hospital and Healthcare Management. In 2018, I received my certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.

I had reached a point in my life where I wasn’t completely happy with my body. There were certain areas that I felt could be better especially my midsection. I had explored the options of cosmetic surgery but wasn’t too keen on the idea. I was introduced to a lady that offered laser lipo and lipo cavitation. Before my first appointment, I of course done my research into this non-invasive service. So I tried it out and LOVED IT!! I absolutely loved my results. From there, I incorporated intermittent fasting, a personal trainer and a great waist trainer. With a lot of commitment and dedication, I reached my body goal.

I ended up working for the lady for a while and liked it. I was having a conversation with a good friend one day and he said, “you should open your own shop.” I didn’t think too much of it. I was content at my job as a medical assistant. So while working at the chiropractic office as a medical assistant an opportunity presented itself for me to train other medical assistants in the chiropractic field. With that opportunity also came an assignment, part of my assignment was to read Grant Codone’s 10x Rule: The Only Difference Between Success and Failure.

As I was reading this book and taking notes, I was thinking to myself, “I would be crazy to take this knowledge to help someone else’s business become successful when I clearly have the skillset and foundation to make myself successful.’ That day the idea of D’Luxe Silhouettes LLC was born.

I contacted the lady that introduced me to the business to ask if it was ok if I started my own business because I, of course, didn’t want to step on anyone’s toes. She gave me her blessings and the rest is history. I officially opened on July 6, 2019. This year we will celebrate our two years anniversary.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wouldn’t necessarily say the road has been smooth but it hasn’t been too difficult either. I have a really great support system. The most difficult struggle that I’ve encountered would have to be obtaining funding for expansions and equipment. I started my business like most other small business owners with my own money, and most lenders don’t want to take the risk with start-ups.

I will say this has been the most rewarding experience of life.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about D’Luxe Silhouette’s Body Sculpting and Esthetics?
We offer a variety of body sculpting and esthetics services. When I opened my shop, I opened with the mindset of helping people become the best them. When you look good, you feel good. So with that in mind, my shop is here to help you do just that, look good and feel even better.

Some of the services we offer are lipo cavitation, laser lipo, butt enhancements, body waxing, hyaluron fillers, CryoSkin and facials just to name few. We service both men and women.

What sets us apart from others in our field is we offer a wider variety of services in both the body sculpting and esthetics fields.

Brand-wise I’m most proud of our growth. When I first started, I only had two beds in a 500 sq ft space. I’ve since expanded to over 1500 sq ft, with six treatment beds and a variety of different services. I will also launch my own skincare line for both men and women later this year.

We also offer body sculpting classes for anyone that is interested in starting their own body sculpting business. Those classes are held the last Sunday of every month.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Covid-19 taught me to always expect the unexpected and to never get too comfortable in any situation.
