Life & Work with RR Campaign

Today we’d like to introduce you to RR Campaign.

RR, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
To describe me I think I’d say, I’m a dirt bike rider that raps #bikelife.

My music journey started in college, I had a paper due and instead of writing the paper somehow, I wrote my first rap. My brother liked it so much he told me to write another one. I dropped out of college but I continued to write and once I felt I had a solid project I would release a project.

In April 2022, I dropped my first EP “Campaign”, and two months later, dropping a joint project with my childhood friend Walt Lou’s “Running Mates”. I really love performing, any chance I get I try to get on stage. I’ve opened for k-camp and participated in most of the local indie shows.

This interview is a blessing because it lets me know I’m being noticed, but it’s strange because I feel like my story is just beginning. To quote me “I always knew I was gone blow up, it’s really bout that time” – Ray Gun by RR Campaign

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’m still at the bottom, lol. I feel like it’s normal. I want everything that comes with it.

It’s funny cause I and my team look at the greats and say to ourselves they went thru it too. The small crowds, not having a budget, the haters and just the journey itself, I want all of that.

I and brother were talking and we laughed at the fact we want to perform in the hole-in-the-wall joints, we want to be on the road just grinding

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
In 2018, seeing drake and Migos perform at sprint center made me want to be a rapper. When I see people enjoying my music and singing along that’s when I’m the proudest, up on that stage.

I think a lot of rappers forget they entertainers, and that’s what make it fun, because I like making ppl happy.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Can’t be afraid to talk to people lol!

Through close relationships, you will find a mentor, because if you’re always working someone is going to notice. You can have the best song in the world but if the Dj doesn’t know you, how are you gonna get your song played.

It’s always someone around you who wants to help. You could be doing anything not just music if you got talent and a good work ethic your circle will form and your mentor will present themselves.
