Life & Work with Jessie Vassie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessie Vassie. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born 9/20/88 in Kansas City Missouri of Raymond and Marilyn Vassie. I’ve lived in Kansas City Missouri for about 21 years. I wasn’t always your positive person coming up. I’ve been through a lot to get this little I have and in the position I’m in. Coming up in Kansas City Missouri I was raised  on the forty-three hundred block area where crime was at its most high. Even though we were in a property area my mom and dad made sure that we were taught well and well groomed to know what was going on around us so we wouldn’t fall for it even though I have been to prison I’ve been shot and also sold drugs my parents were guiding me the right way! Coming up I was in a group called the KC Mo Bucks my mom and dad were a manager the group members were my siblings. We were almost signed by a few big labels like BME, dynasty records which is under universal records and we’ve done shows internationally. For those of you that don’t know I do gospel hip-hop I’m in the CHH category of music me and my wife Iisha Vea have been doing music together for about seven or eight years now, we’ve done events to help the homeless to help those that are in need we’ve also done events just for community events! We’ve also came together to do this one organization call TGI Fridays for the youth which is where we have had positive music in positive speaking to encourage the brains of the youth.

Now the reasoning of these things in these positive events is because I myself Jesse V have been homeless have been without and also like I’ve said have been in prison and I felt a feeling of being a long with no help I felt like in that time that no one should feel that they have no one they can reach out to or know resources that can help them to get the resources that is needed to help them in life so me and my wife have been doing things to build a community the most important to build a kingdom of God our ministry is to help those that are in need it doesn’t mean that you have to be home is to be in need we are talking about the need of the physical knowledge and education! Coming up in Kansas City Missouri I went to a couple of schools and I didn’t understand why there was a push for closing of the schools in the Youth didn’t have anything to help them or structure them. Before we started doing these things we looked around at all the events that were going on that was so called positive and we noticed that the events were saying that they were positive going about to be positive but they have negative music they have people that are from negative backgrounds coming to speak to people that are trying to be positive so we changed it we have positive music and we also have positive people that are coming from positive backgrounds are end or if they have a negative background their foreground is now positive! To summarize this article up I came from a rough background and with God‘s help it changed the foreground what’s going on in my life I pray and M are doing these things to help people or the youth to not go through what I’ve been through again at the beginning of the article I told you that my parents had positive teaching positive guidance but when we went out to the world there was no positivity around us so with that being said we putting things together to help outside of the home

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This has been a road that’s been very unseen for me and my wife! What I mean by that is that all these things that are happening we have never seen before God has been blessing us because of our faith.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Do you live in the rec, we specialize in building the community. We do community events to help stop the violence and also to give back to the ones that don’t have and spread the word to those that are in need!

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The quality of not letting nothing get to you stay focused keep your mind on what the mission is and don’t include too many people on your mission.
