Life & Work with Alex Blanchette

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Blanchette.

Alex, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
At the time that I learned what Microblading was, I was a stay-at-home mom who had previously worked as an esthetician. I knew I didn’t want to go back to a corporate job when I returned to work, but I struggled to figure out what I would do when my daughter was old enough to go to school. I was scrolling Instagram when I saw microblade eyebrows for the first time. I knew instantly that I would do it someday and called my husband then to tell him I had found something I wanted to pursue. We talked about it for a couple of years when I found a training program that I traveled to. The training was great. I felt confident and encouraged when I was finished. But then, I had to work on clients without the supervision of a trainer. It was terrifying and overwhelming. I pressed through, kept in contact with my trainer with questions, and used lots of continuing education courses. Experience is the best teacher and sticking with it – though it was hard, was the best choice!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Microblading is a very difficult art. Every client is different. Some skin types are very difficult to work on. Scheduling can be challenging. To own a business is a risk and takes a lot of continued effort, but it is definitely worth it!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in shaping and bettering brows. I am known for creating natural-looking results with little trauma to the skin. I am definitely most proud of my journey as an artist and how far I’ve come from where I’ve started.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I am a perfectionist and l am diligent in making sure that I am giving my best work to each client who comes to see me.
