Hi Shayla, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been in the nail industry for about 30 years, and I opened my own salon 10 years ago. In the beginning, it was really challenging because when I bought the salon, it didn’t have any customers. I started by working myself with just a few technicians, and slowly we built everything from the ground up.
Through hard work, passion, and dedication — not only from me but also from my amazing team — the salon has grown to where it is today. Now we have 10 talented technicians who truly care about their work and create beautiful designs with skill and heart.
At first, we only offered nail services, but over time we expanded to include eyelash extensions, eyebrow services, and our newest addition — the head spa treatment. Recently, I completely remodeled the entire salon to give it a fresh, elegant new look. I’ve invested a lot into creating a beautiful space where clients can relax and feel pampered, and I’m so proud of how far we’ve come.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth road. When I first bought the salon, it was what people would call a “dead salon” — there were no customers at all. It took a lot of time, patience, and hard work to slowly build it back up.
From the beginning, my mindset has always been that “the customer is everything.” I believe in serving every client with genuine care and doing my best from the heart. That’s what helped me earn their trust and grow the business.
Looking back now, I’m proud that I never gave up. Every challenge taught me something, and staying true to my passion and values is what brought me to where I am today.

Every year, on the first Saturday of December, we host a special Customer Appreciation & Anniversary Party at Lavish Nails & Spa. It’s our way of saying thank you to all our wonderful clients for their love and support.
We celebrate with food, drinks, lots of gifts, and fun raffle prizes. It’s always a joyful time filled with laughter, gratitude, and community — a tradition that means a lot to me and my team.

What matters most to me is doing everything with heart. I believe when you truly care about your clients and your team, everything else will fall into place. I want everyone who comes to my salon to feel loved, respected, and beautiful — inside and out.
