Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Dickinson.

Hi Rebecca, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my business at the end of 2015 by helping my husband, who is a Realtor, stage a stale listing. The condo I staged was sold to the first person who saw it after it was staged. I was so excited about the results, but more importantly, I had an amazing time staging it.

I continued to grow my business part-time, while also working part-time as a School Psychologist at a school near my home. With mixed feelings, I resigned from my position as a School Psychologist last May so I could focus all my energy on my business.

We are now offering residential interior design services as well as staging. I continue to love this work and I hope we continue to grow!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I can’t say we haven’t had some challenges, but things always seem to work out and come together. Staging struggles typically look like scratches or damage to furniture and weather problems, but we have a great team and everyone has a positive attitude, which makes a huge difference.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Lemondrop Home?
We are a residential interior design and home staging business servicing the Kansas City Metro area. We are known for great customer service and great results.

It’s really important to me that our clients enjoy working with us and this is likely why we get so many referrals. Our style is beautiful but comfortable and casual. We want our spaces to feel welcoming and to appeal to all.

We work with almost any budget and find joy in making great design accessible to everyone. We’ve recently been focusing on short-term rental (Airbnb) design and we are loving that.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is measured by client satisfaction. If our clients aren’t satisfied, we will work until they are.

Pricing:

  • Staging packages average about $1995, but range from $1595 up to $5000+.
  • Interior Design services start with a design consultation for $150 and we charge $100 an hour for design following that.
  • Short-term rental design ranges from $199 to $300 per room.
