Inspiring Conversations with Julie Schlueter of Fiore Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julie Schlueter.

Hi Julie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Fiore Events was born out of an obsession for events, organization, logistics, and good old-fashioned love stories! I was always volunteering to help plan friends’ birthday parties, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and more – being able to use both my creative and organized sides to create a memorable event is what I live for! I started planning events professionally in the non-profit world, but once I jumped into weddings, I haven’t looked back! Nothing makes me happier than getting to know my clients and helping to make their wedding day stress-free, relaxed, and seamless. The people I work with mean the world to me and I’m so honored to be a small part of their love story.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Every small business has its challenges – but I try to look at them as opportunities to grow and improve. That’s such an Enneagram 7 thing to say, isn’t it? But as the years have gone by, I’ve definitely become more confident in my abilities and know that I can handle pretty much anything thrown my way. The great thing about wedding planning and coordinating is that every wedding is completely different. While some people may look at this as stressful, it’s what brings me life. The challenges and uniqueness that come with each wedding is what I find so endearing about this job. The ability to make quick game-time decisions or pivot and execute a plan B or C when needed is a skill set that I take pride in. I am excited about the future and can’t wait to see what the next few years bring!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Fiore Events was launched in 2018 and specialize in wedding planning and coordination in the Kansas City metro area. We are happy to celebrate ALL love – no matter who you are, we want to help you have the wedding day of your dreams! We encourage our couples to make their day truly about them. It makes us so happy when our clients find ways to incorporate little pieces of their relationship into their wedding to make it feel completely “them”. If you want to incorporate a petting zoo into your wedding, we’re here for it! Want to have a Harley Davidson sendoff at the end of the night? Let’s do it! Our ultimate goal: when guests arrive, there should be no question of whose wedding they’re walking into because it should feel exactly like the happy couple, plain and simple.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
While I do believe that there is a bit of luck involved with every situation, I also acknowledge that there’s been a LOT of hard work done behind the scenes to make this dream of mine come true. I’m fortunate to have an incredibly supportive husband, as well as very gracious and understanding friends and family who are always there for me offering to help however they can. Luck is certainly a small piece of the puzzle, but I believe that my dedication and willingness to consistently work for this business of mine and my amazing network of support is what has brought the most success.
