Hi Jonathan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Have you ever found yourself in the position of repeating the same thing day after day?
Many years ago, I remembered thinking about how much impact I was really making in people’s lives doing insurance sales over the phone. Very rarely did I speak to the same person twice. I found myself asking, was I really making a difference in the call center environment?
You see, in a call center, the structure of the sales process limits value for the customer. Many call centers incentivize their employees to have a certain number of sales in each category each month. You can see how some people might push one product or another for someone when it might not be in their best interest.
Typically you speak to a person that completes a sale and then you speak to several different people in the underwriting process. Then once you have a policy and you have questions, you speak to a different person each time you reach out to the company you got the insurance from. You can see how frustrating this is for many people.

Well, there is. Working in several different industries over the years and working with our local community, I have learned the value of an agent that is assigned to you. Someone who cares about you and your family. In our business model, we strive to keep you informed and satisfied as our client. We are bringing back integrity and customer service into the insurance market. Don’t get me wrong, there are many good companies out there.
Sadly, there are few that will sit down with you one on one for the duration of your life and be there to advise you over what products are in your best interest. That is where we come in at Virtuous Insurance Planning.
Because we are independent, we shop the market to see which carrier brings the most value to you as our client. We are not limited by just a few carriers, but rather we work with a team of experts in each industry to find you what is in your best interest.
My favorite book says, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men… Colossians 3:23”
This is a governing principle in how I run Virtuous Insurance Planning. It is this that drives me to do what is right by every person regardless of the compensation I receive. I believe if you do what is right by a person that you will reap what you sow. We are here to serve you and help you find what products and services are best for you and your company.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been a smooth road in starting an insurance business. We started our company about two years ago. In starting an insurance business, there comes challenges. The most difficult part is getting your client base built up to where you can support yourself and your family.
We attended every event we could find and started partnering with other local business to let them know about us and what we do. Over time we built many relationships in the community and constantly get many referrals each week from people that are happy with our services.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are known for the amount of time we take to research our client’s options to make sure we put them in the best position possible. People know us for our honesty and comprehensive education we provide our clients.

Also, we provide solutions for Group Benefits. We help clients with Mortgage protection, Retirement Planning, Life Insurance, Disability Income, and much more.

People know when you are being honest with them and they can see when you care for them. Also, you need to plan ahead and create systems to better help your clients and scale your business.
