Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominic & Jacqueline Greenlee.
Hi Dominic & Jacqueline; so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Three years ago, when we were planning our wedding, we were surprised by the cost of the decorations. We run this business out of our home in Lee’s Summit but partner with brides all over the city! My sorority sister owned this business but started a new venture out of state. When the opportunity arose to purchase Durant Events from her, we jumped on it and haven’t looked back.
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
There have been a lot of learning curves that we have had to iron out since we took over Durant Events. We are educators by day, so we have an eye for detail, but owning a business comes with challenges. We trial and error and adjust as we need to.

We specialize in event decoration rentals – from linens to backdrops, arches, and arbors. We have table decorations and yard games. I am proud to say we recently added customized designs to our business. My designer can create a cohesive look, from seating charts to bar signs and wedding programs. She can even design your invitations. I am excited to expand our business to offer event design, a showroom, and deliveries. I am proud of how much we have grown over this past year of ownership.
What does success mean to you?
We define success as accomplishing goals. We consider ourselves to be successful when we achieve the goals we create.
