Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Christine Owens.
Hi Nikki Christine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am a native of Oakland, CA. A Kansas City Metro transplant since 2008. My journey in skincare began in 2009 with a direct sales company and my desire to offer hands-on glamour services. However, the Esthetics training I received motivated my interest in corrective skincare and epilation.
Since graduating and obtaining my license in 2012, I have enjoyed the opportunity of working with personal care facilities– from franchises to private spas. My motivation to work solely for myself never wavered.
Love Peace Skin Aesthetics was born June 1, 2019, and continues to grow as five-star corrective skincare and sugaring epilation spa and personal care studio.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The obstacle was me. I have a corporate background and even having had my own business in direct sales, I was comfortable accepting a steady paycheck from someone else. Working for franchises, one is not often afforded the opportunity to work for themselves or build their own clientele within the company. I couldn’t seem to allow myself the chance to break away.
Ultimately, my “opportunity” to go solo arose when a private spa I was working at closed. My options would be to start applying for jobs or plan to open my own space. Either way, the level of anxiety was the same. I chose myself this time.
I was delighted, and blessed, to open with a handful of loyal clients. I worked tirelessly– behind the scenes and outside of the treatment room– to be able to offer and improve upon the level of service my clients had come to appreciate. It was good until the pandemic’s shelter-in-place mandate forced “temporary cessation of in-spa services”, which is how I chose to describe what most people were calling a shut-down. I used words that spoke positivity into the universe because I was NOT closing.
Those two months taught me many things. I used gardening to help me practice patience, obedience, and gratitude–a few things I hope my clients feel when they visit my cozy little spa suite.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Love Peace Skin Aesthetics?
Love Peace Skin Aesthetics is your pathway to skin health and a safe space for all tweens, teens, women, and men who seek corrective skincare, a relaxing spa experience, and/or epilation.
Using the principles of corneotherapy to rebuild, protect and maintain balance, treatments are customized for each individual’s concerns. “Clean and clinical” botanically-based skincare products with proven effective active ingredients comprise the Love Peace Skin Aesthetics “Pathway to Skin Health” program.
With an imperative emphasis on improving the tone, texture, and functionality of the skin, I offer services such as customized facials, chemical peels, thermolysis, and sugar epilation.
My goal is to help everyone who visits feel and look their best and that they will trust me to care for their skin and well-being for years to come.
The Love Peace Skin name and logo are affirmations. While the name is self-explanatory, the Medusa logo denotes wisdom and renewal. I enjoy a good flow of relevance. I am most grateful to be able to offer a space where people look forward to returning.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I have always been able to appreciate a company with strong social responsibility. My very personal stand is with people who struggle mentally. My goals are to carve a niche to help support those who find difficulties in overcoming life’s many challenges.
I’d like for Love Peace Skin Aesthetics to become affinity partners with the organization (s) of equal alliance.
