Today we’d like to introduce you to Leigh Phillips.
Leigh, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
For me, the first half of my life was spent in service of myself. Through a series of life-changing events about seven years ago, I think my channel got changed. I prayed a lot about what I was going to do, and the Lord decided that I was to be called to spend the rest of my life in service of others.
With this in my heart, I ventured into Officiant services. I have always loved weddings, and what better way to share in a lot of them than to serve others with the talents I have. Seemed like a good idea in 2016, and today…I couldn’t be happier with my choice.
It is my pleasure to be of service to couples in the Kansas City area. Thank you to all and God Bless.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have had a very exciting and successful time. I began my business with the intent of writing each ceremony from scratch. Most couples are very receptive to this idea and each couple has input in making their dream wedding happen.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business and personal experience, along with self-training, has allowed me to be very diverse in all aspects of web design, digital art and business maintenance. I come from a family of self-starters and business owners, so it seems that I was destined to be here.
Each couple is unique, so I have committed my service to personalizing and writing original wedding ceremonies according to the couple’s needs.
Wedding in KC, LLC also knows the importance of giving back to the community. I have found my charity work a blast. I am co-hosting and coordinating “Let’s Get Quizzical!” The REMATCH, tiny.cc/therematch, which raises funds to help survivors of human trafficking in Kansas City.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I remember my father always saying, “It’s all about the preparation and the presentation.” I guess that has stuck with me throughout my adult life. It has served me well. Thanks Dad.
