Exploring Life & Business with Candace Haltom of In Your Business

Today we’d like to introduce you to Candace Haltom.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I went to a chamber lunch with my job a few years ago and was introduced to small business owners there. I spoke to a few of them about their businesses and how they got the word out about their products and services. Once I learned more about that community, I did research and decided to become a social media manager to start.

I marketed on Facebook and gained a few new clients and as my business grew, so did my services. After three years in marketing, I took a mental health break to revisit my passions and decide what it was I really wanted to do. After planning and checking in on my mental health, I decided that showing new business owners how to start and grow their businesses was what I am meant to do.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Some of the struggles I ran into were lack of clients, lack of income, and of course the decline of my mental health. I work two jobs and am a single mom so managing my time effectively can also sometimes be a struggle.

As you know, we’re big fans of In Your Business LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I love to brag on my business!! In Your Business LLC is a Start-Up Business Consulting company of one. My specials teach the fundamentals of starting and growing a new business through the art of entrepreneurship. I also offer Business Coaching services to those who need that additional support in order to meet their business goals and mini-workshops for teens who are interested in starting a business while in school.

I am unique in this niche because I had a failed business so I am able to use those experiences in order to guide new business owners down the correct path to successful entrepreneurship.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Don’t let life dictate your success. If you’re passionate about something, go for it and who ever doesn’t support you, they weren’t meant for you anyway.
