Exploring Life & Business with Bee Cherelle of Heal One

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bee Cherelle.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
After graduating with my Master’s degree from Loyola (Chicago, IL), I returned to Kansas City, MO where I worked with pregnant women and adolescents. I developed a passion for working with women, especially black women. With that passion in 2018, I developed Her.Listic a brand to promote holism in black women. Within that same year, I hosted my very first mental health event, “The Silent Struggle” which focused on the mental health of black women and children. Although days and a year or so had gone by, my passion for my community remained. I have always had a heart for helping others. But it was not until adulthood when I began to notice the weight and honor of being a black women. I was tired of “The strong black woman” narrative. So, In 2020, I created a podcast titled “The BlackHer The Berry”, promoting mental health awareness in black women. Within that same year, I experienced a depressive episode that I could not hide from family and friends. After reaching out for professional help, I began to research herbal medicine. Herbal medicine has also been a passion of mine for many years. My passion for herbal medicine ultimately influenced the development of Healing Essentials Co., LLC (now Healing Essentials Co. by Heal One, LLC.) offering herbal remedies and alternatives. But of course, I did not stop there. I am also the founder of Heal One. Heal One provides mental health and holistic alternative services. My goal is to help others to heal from within by providing mental, emotional, and spiritual support.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This journey has its ups and downs. The most challenging part is fighting against the existing mental health stigma by being the voice for those who struggle (or struggled) in silence. It’s a challenge helping others to understand the importance of learning how to help their loved ones with mental illness. I have learned that when people become consumed by their personal experiences, trauma, wants, and needs, it does not leave very much room for compassion and selflessness.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Heal One, LLC?
Heal One offers mental health and alternative holistic services such as behavior health consultations, mental health consultations, therapy, and life coaching services. Heal One welcomes those who are determined to do the internal work to heal their invisible wounds. We understand the power of holism and encourage others to take a holistic approach to healing.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I appreciate the artistic talent in Kansas City. I believe that art, music, and dance are all forms of therapy for many people. It is beautiful to watch others express themselves through art as he/she walks the path toward healing. I also appreciate the growing number of black business owners. I would like to see and be a part of business collaborations to promote wellness in the community. My hope is that addressing mental wellness will be one of many solutions to address crime and violence in our city.
