Daily Inspiration: Meet Tonisha Alexander

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tonisha Alexander.

Hi Tonisha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Being creative and artistic has always been a part of who I am. As far back as I can remember, I’ve loved the process of creating art, and I’m addicted to the way it makes me feel when I create.

I do not limit myself to what I choose to create by sticking to a particular style or genre. I’m a jack of all trades and a master of some of them. Art is who I am and my way of expression. I chose to use my creative skills to create luxurious picnics and I’m loving the decor side of me.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I really haven’t struggled in this business. I’ve had to choose I would say maintaining social media pages has been my struggle. But for the most part, creating picnics has been so much fun. Most of all, I love the people that I’ve met along the way. When creating a picnic you really get to see a more intimate, charismatic side of people. You get the guy who wants to show how much he loves his girlfriend, so he asks you many questions on how to make that moment just right.

Or the women who want to create the perfect anniversary surprise so we are having secrete conversations. Either way, it’s the love I see between one another that inspires me the most. I truly love creating the most romantic settings and I imagine that I’ve had just a little bit to do with bringing love between people with my picnics.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a mother of three! Two of which are babies! Somalia (age 12), Nadia’Rose (age 1), and Zoya (6 months). I work full-time and I’m a full-time mother. My oldest daughter, Somalia helps me set up from time to time, and I pay her a small fee. I’m proud of her and I’m happy she gets to her mother as an entrepreneur.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I’ve joined so many FB groups and watched so many YouTube videos to prepare myself for my business. Find YOUR people, learn from them, ask questions and if you don’t understand ask again. Utilize other people that are in the same business as you. It has helped me tremendously.
