Daily Inspiration: Meet Janna and Cecil Fackrell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janna and Cecil Fackrell.

Hi Janna and Cecil, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
We met in Sedona, AZ on a powerful retreat and have been inseparable ever since. At the time, Cecil lived in Olathe, KS and Janna lived in Los Angeles, CA. Cecil left his life in Kansas and moved to LA to marry the woman of his dreams and do a few years of training in Shamanism and Holistic Medicine! Bringing these powerful shamanic traditions and teachings to the Midwest, Cecil and Janna are dedicated to providing healing to the mind, body, and spirit. We opened our 501 c 3 nonprofit retreat center in January of 2017. We have grown the spiritual community here in the Midwest and have brought many teachers here to share their work as well including reiki, yoga, meditation, breathwork, neurofeedback, red light therapy, bemer therapy just to name a few. We now host weekend healing retreats, men’s groups, women’s circles, sweat lodges, and other healing modalities. We offer this all free to Veterans and first responders and run on a donation basis.

We have been able to send two veterans this year to a Dr. Joe Dispenza advanced week-long meditation retreat due to generous donations from the community. We want to continue to send more as the funds become available. During this week-long retreat, the two Veterans that we sent were able to be pain-free in the first time in years and find their hearts and hope again. It brings us great joy to know that the effect rippled out to their families and loved ones.

We have a strong focus on Veteran’s but also work closely with the police and fire departments as well as the community.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When we moved here back in December of 2016, we didn’t have a community. We had to build it. We were always afraid it would be hard to get people here, however as they say ‘build it and they will come’. Well, here we are five years later and they came. In the beginning, we would pass flyers out in the community, pay online for advertising, etc. Anything to get the word out. Now we are waitlisting most of our events. We are very grateful to be able to serve the community in this way. However, the need is great and there are always more people that we would like to serve.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Cecil was practicing dermatology for 20 years, however, he had to retire early due to a medical condition. However, Janna did get to pick his brain to help her with her all organic, hand-crafted skincare line, illuminessence.

Everything is dermatology approved (by her husband) and 100% of the profits go right back into the nonprofit retreat center. We only use all-natural, organic products and the only preservative we will ever use is Eco-Certified in compliance with Organic Labeling. We have a wide variety of products from the most popular anti-aging collection, to tinted lip balms and blushes to care for psoriasis or eczema.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is love and connection. We get to witness that every day here while helping people heal themselves from the inside out. In addition, 99% of the things we worry about never happen. So, stop worrying and just be. Don’t think, just feel.
