Daily Inspiration: Meet Chris Fletcher

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Fletcher.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Our company started with a small candle kit that was a gift, and we enjoyed the process so much that we began ordering more and more supplies until we had built up a decent little stash of candles. We began visiting farmers’ markets and swap meets to sell what we had made, and it very quickly started selling, so we kept making more and more every week. After a few months, we started selling to local stores and made our first website. We now have customers all across the US, from Florida to California. We have grown from 6 to 52 fragrances and are now making our concrete candle vessels.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We have been very fortunate to have a pretty smooth road. Our only struggle has been the rising costs of shipping and product availability for the things we have to purchase to make our products.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Chris is a certified chef and takes a lot of pride in the variety of fragrances we offer; most are hand-mixed, so they are all a bit different from what our competitors offer. His fantastic sense of smell allows him to recreate scents to give our candles their unique fragrance. Bre focuses on the label design giving each candle fragrance its appearance. We are best known for our Fart line, it sounds silly, but that silliness exactly draws people to it. We are very proud of each other and the ways we have grown in different areas to entirely create our products in each different aspect of the process

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
For Chris, the music was always present in his home. The radio was always on, and to this day, he has music playing throughout the house every day for Bre, family vacations, road trips, or flights to different places every summer.
