Conversations with Taylor Brown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Brown.

Hi Taylor, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am an SC native who has always had a passion for the arts.

From an early age, I knew that my creative abilities would grow with me into adulthood, I studied at the Art Institute of Charleston obtaining a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Fashion Marketing and Management. There, I discovered my love of creative aesthetics such as PR, creative direction, and graphic arts.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No journey to success is smooth. I had a lot of bumps in the road along the way. But on that journey, you have to take the good with the bad and learn to stay focused on your dreams.

My main struggle was always doubting myself when it came to my endeavors, I had to learn to take a big risk to make a change. On that journey, I learned that not everyone will believe in you and that’s ok with confidence you believe in yourself and that’s all that matters.

Also that you have to find your tribe those are the people who will sit you in rooms where you wouldn’t believe that you would be.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I started a creative facilitation business “The Taylored Touch”; The Taylored Touch helps build brands by providing graphic design needs for businesses. Also under the same brand name, we provide styling and makeup services to clients for all of their creative direction needs.

I also provide event and interior design decorating services under the business name Elegant Element. But with fashion and beauty being my first love I also decided to create my very cosmetic and accessories brand “Grand Glam Co.” with the vision statement being “Enhancing all of your best features to give you the “GrandGlam” effect.” A brand to help empower everyone to be confident and daring.

I am most proud of everyone who believes in me it’s been a long road coming. My supporters are who make me proud because they believe in me to create and shop from my businesses. To me, I believe, I stand out because I am humble. All of my talents and entrepreneurship wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for god.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Risk-taking is a thrill ride it has its ups and downs. but what is a risk without reward? I’ve taken a lot of risks when it comes to entrepreneurship I’ve been scammed, hacked, and dragged.

But those lessons were worth it. I learned I could put all of my eggs in one basket drop the basket and pile it back up again with new shiny eggs.
