Community Highlights: Meet Joy Adams of JWA Accounting & Tax Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joy Adams.

Joy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey started in an accounting class in high school. I fell in love with accounting and have spent the last 20+ years learning my craft and finding ways to enhance it. I’ve dabbled in taxes for family and friends over the years but became serious about it in 2019. I enjoy helping people understand and become comfortable with taxes and accounting.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part, it has been a smooth road. Of course, with COVID, there was a major shift in how we do business and people were reluctant to adapt. Since I had to perform my services 100% virtually, I had to implement processes to put people’s minds at ease and earn their trust since they were providing me with their private information.

We’ve been impressed with JWA Accounting & Tax Services, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
JWA Accounting & Tax Services is a business that provides tax and accounting services for individuals and small businesses. I pride myself in being organized, having an eye for detail as well as other meaningful attributes such as professionalism, commitment, integrity and honesty. I focus on delivering value and putting the interest of my clients first. I serve my clients by going above and beyond with expert advice, responsiveness and peace of mind.I am always educating myself on accounting standards and tax laws and look forward to earning by Certified Public Accountant credentials within the next year. JWA Accounting & Tax Services is always looking to serve new clients.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Be patient. It takes longer to create and pursue a dream than it does to decide to go after it. I have learned to trust that I’m always progressing and it’s up to me to find the blessings in where I am and where I am going. I can’t be successful in my journey if I don’t think I’m enough or that I’m capable of doing what it takes to make my dreams come true. I will trust in my path, my purpose and the timing of my blessings and believe that I will have everything I need to succeed. I am confident and believe that everything I’m doing is enough because it is.
