Community Highlights: Meet Isabelle Koné of Anisk Language

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabelle Koné.

Isabelle, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My French accent always was an opportunity for me to interact with people wherever I was. Originally from Ivory Coast, West Africa it has allowed me to share my passion for languages and travel. I started by giving private French Lessons to English speakers who wished to travel to France while finishing college in Connecticut. The move to Kansas City in 2016 allowed me to dive more into the business as the demand increased and my background became an asset to work as an interpreter and liaison to business owners, private companies seeking to do business in the USA. Standing in the gap and allowing people to communicate effectively and conduct business as well as learn the French Language has been such a rewarding experience for me. My job is very versatile. Today I can sitting in a Cafe teaching a private session, tomorrow I can be on a plane to francophone Africa with a US team working to make things happen.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There are challenges in all we do and they are there to help us grow. You can be in high demand depending on the season and then nothing for several months. That’s when being versatile comes into place. I’m also a notary and teach Entrepreneurship to women groups in West Africa and have networked a lot during my downtime. If you only see the obstacles as a new opportunity to do something great, you will make it through no matter what.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Anisk Language?
My business offers languages services (French/English) such as translation, tutoring, Interpretation, notary public and representative services in France, West Africa and North America. I am proud to have been able to grow since the college days into a business that provide tailor-made French learning sessions and also being able to now offer my services worldwide. If you need a personal French/English interpreter to tag along on your business trips, this is the company for you.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
