Community Highlights: Meet Holly Jones of New Heights Realty Team with RE/MAX Heritage

Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Jones.

Hi Holly, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was a police officer for five years. Law enforcement was my dream job but during that time, I prayed for an opportunity to arise for me to go into a career that would be easier on my family. One of my law enforcement partners decided he was going to leave the department to become a real estate agent and asked me to make the switch with him.

I interviewed with David Wiesemann, broker of RE/MAX Heritage, and within 5 minutes of speaking with David, I knew real estate was the career for me. David ended our interview with, “The harder you work, the more money you make.” This was music to my ears due to my work ethic. I couldn’t wait to get started.

After I got my real estate license in 2014, I had 18 months before I would be vested and retire from the police department so I worked both jobs at full-time hours for 18 months. I worked at the police department from 3pm to 3am, 3 to 4 nights a week, and worked real estate on my days off and from 8 am to 2 pm on the days I worked at the police department. I decided nothing was going to stop me from being successful. I was so determined and was sleeping so little, I ended up losing motor function skills from my body no longer producing adrenaline on its own and had to take a break from the police department to recover.

Within a year and a half of working real estate, I was rated among the top 3% of realtors in the mid-states region for RE/MAX. God continued to bless my business and I was able to start my own team two years after starting in real estate. In 2020, six years in real estate, I was inducted into RE/MAX’s Hall of Fame.

I contribute my success to God. He taught and showed me how to treat people throughout my life. I have always strived to treat others with kindness and compassion. People remembered me through this and it leads to a profitable career selling homes. I even had an individual who I arrested on multiple occasions as a police officer call me and ask for help selling a family home. His reasoning for using me was that I always treated him with respect and kindness. I believe this is the key to being successful in business.

I now have a team of five agents who are more like family to me than employees. I am truly blessed. I have based my entire business on referrals. I only market to those in my sphere of influence and follow Liz Johnson’s Perk Your Sphere program. My sales increased by 24% in the first year since switching from purchasing leads to marketing to my sphere of influence. Each month I provide a free gift giveaway or a free private event for our friends, family and clients. This program not only has increased my team’s referrals it also brings joy to everyone who participates.

I am excited to see what awaits the New Heights Realty team in the future.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
After a couple of years in the business, I started purchasing leads from a popular real estate website. It was profitable since I was able to turn leads into clients, however, I was working 10x’s harder building trust in strangers who had no reference to me and it was taking time away from me being able to prospect my sphere of influence. I learned through trial and error that buying leads wasn’t the right direction for my business. I also attempting farming neighborhoods for a year and a half and realized that too was not the right direction for my business.

I then found Liz Johnson’s Perk Your Sphere program and it radically transformed my business.

As you know, we’re big fans of New Heights Realty Team with RE/MAX Heritage. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
As a former police officer with a Business Marketing degree, I engage my clients and teach them the process of buying and selling property that goes far beyond just signing on the dotted line. With years of experience serving and educating people in the most stressful of situations, I love assisting others with the largest financial investment they make in life. I strive to build long-lasting relationships that are based on trust, confidence, and concise goals, showing I value the community I work and live in.

I am an expert at selling and buying houses but people don’t just hire me for what I do, they hire me for why I do it. The most important thing to me is to provide you a service that blesses you and your family. I strive each day to make a difference in someone’s life. I receive so much joy from helping people, like yourself, sell their homes quick, easy and for the highest value possible and finding them the right home to start the next journey of their lives.

I will always put you first. Real estate is a commission-only world, however, I know when I lead with integrity and do what is best for my client above all else, they’ll send every friend, family member and co-worker my way which is worth so much more!

From pre-qualifying with a trusted lender to scheduling all showings and inspections to finalizing the closing, I will coordinate each aspect of the home-buying and selling process for you. Essentially, I handle everything from start to finish!

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I am always looking for trusted contractors who will not take advantage of my clients, friends and family.
