Community Highlights: Meet Cara Morrison Meghan Dalton of Beauty Boutique KC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cara Morrison Meghan Dalton.

Cara Morrison, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hi! We’re Meghan and Cara — best friends turned business partners. We first met during our freshman year of high school and quickly discovered a shared passion for creativity, connection, and dreaming big. After heading off to college, we each found ourselves on paths that didn’t align with who we truly are. Burnt out and unfulfilled, we started to imagine a different future, one where we could build something meaningful together!

What began as a casual “what if” quickly became a calling. We said goodbye to college, enrolled in cosmetology school, and never looked back. After gaining valuable experience, building our clientele in a challenging environment, and learning under the guidance of an incredible mentor, we were blessed with the opportunity — through faith, hard work, and the unwavering support of our family and friends to open the doors of Beauty Boutique KC on August 20, 2024!

Our salon is proudly faith-based and committed to providing a positive, uplifting experience for every client and stylist. We’ve created a space where beauty meets encouragement, and where kindness, professionalism, and community always come first!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Opening a salon has definitely come with its challenges. The creative side came naturally, but navigating the business side was a whole new world to learn. One of the biggest hurdles was figuring out how to get the salon off the ground without taking on debt. It wasn’t easy, but we were blessed with incredible family and friends who pushed us, supported us, and offered help in any way they could. Another challenge has been stepping into leadership roles at only 24 years old. Managing a team of people our age or even older has taught us a lot about communication, balance, and confidence. Every struggle has stretched us, but it’s also made the journey that much more rewarding.

Our salon is dedicated to creating a welcoming, relaxing, and non-intimidating environment for all residents of the Northland. We firmly believe that beauty is not skin deep and that everyone is beautiful in a way that is unique to them. We are committed to making our clients feel confident, beautiful, and empowered inside and out.

At Beauty Boutique KC we specialize in Blonding, dimensional color, haircuts for men/woman/ and children, and lash and brow services.

Our salon carries products from Biolage, Redken, Surface, Kenra, Amika, and American Crew.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Our faith in Christ has been the foundation of everything we do. It has guided us not only in making business decisions but also in the way we care for our clients and our team. We believe that showing kindness, patience, and compassion (caring for others as Christ would) is what truly sets us apart. When people walk through our doors, we want them to feel valued, loved, and uplifted. Our heart for serving others has been the driving force behind our growth and success.
