Check Out Ryah Jay’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryah Jay.

Ryah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always loved beauty and the art of it. My true love was makeup and I would always do my mom’s makeup before she went out with her friends. As I got older I realized I was also in love with skincare! I decided to go to school to become an Esthetician. While in school my teacher told me she’d think I’d make a great lash artist. I looked at her like she was crazy not knowing the next 3 years it would become something I was really good at. I moved to Los Angeles and serviced my first celebrity clientele. After getting pregnant with my son I moved back to Kansas City where I’ve serviced over 200 clients and mentored other lash artists in the area.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh yes. Motherhood is a big part of my entrepreneurial journey. When I first started esthetics school I found out I was 8 weeks pregnant with my first baby. Unfortunately, a few weeks later I miscarried. I didn’t want to fall into my depression even though I was grieving. I finished school and later that next year became pregnant again. This was at the mid part of my lash career. I was excited and carried all the way to 5 months and lost my second baby. So having my son and my career peak at the same time has been a beautiful journey. Though not smooth I wouldn’t change a thing about it.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in everything beauty. In 2021 I made MHLF (Milf) Beauty an LLC. Standing for makeup, hair removal, lashes & facials I love to provide the Ultimate experience. I do makeup, waxing, facials and I’m known as the Fairy Lash Muva. You love bold, volume lashes? I’m your girl! I am most proud of my clean lash line and styles. What sets me apart is my energy! It’s important my clients leave relaxed and confident. Currently I added healing work to my lash sessions. Starting a new business with my son as part owner Herbs N’ Harlem is a healing salt business that promotes relaxation and helps ease anxiety.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is peace. Inner peace. When you learn how to obtain inner peace no other outside energy can disturb that.
