Check Out Alicia Williams’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Williams.

Hi Alicia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started working out at a time when my world was crumbling down. I was severely depressed, my husband had left me for another woman & I had attempted suicide twice. I’ve always been teased for being really skinny and losing my husband to another woman just kicked my pride into oblivion.

After entering a treatment center for depression, I began to workout out of pure boredom. After a while, working out helped me in more ways than I expected. It cleared my mind, gave me peace, confidence & joy! I felt better when I worked out. I could also sleep. So, I started to study more about fitness. As I got more and more Into it; that made me want to become educated. So I got my degree in Kinesiology and exercised science. Then I went to work on me. Working out saved my life. It gave me a reason to live and even more a reason to love myself.

Once I had did that for myself, I decided I wanted to give the same gift of life to other women in the world. So I created Goddess Fitness where I empower women to allow their inner Goddess to emerge & I encourage men to become the God they were born to be!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve had so many struggles along the way. I was diagnosed with stage four cervical cancer (beat it), I was laid off from my job three different times before I decided to just go full time into Goddess Fitness., I was attacked by my American bulldog that chewed up my legs & the tip of my thumb. Seems like everything that could hit me did and I’ve conquered each obstacle.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer with a BS in Kinesiology & exercise Science. I am most proud of GODDESS FITNESS! I have built this with no loans and no help. I don’t have a lot of money so I built my website myself, created my logo myself, renovated my fitness suite myself. I fulfill my own orders, place my own logos on items and am my own creative director. I create all of my own tanks and T’s. I do all my own photos and videos. I edit them all as well. I’m sure I’m missing something but I’m busting my backside to make sure Goddess Fitness is a household name.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Be sure to set clear and precise guidelines and stand on them. If you do that and trust yourself, you will go very far. It’s a must that you set clear expectations of your clients, yourself and your business.
