Community Highlights: Meet Reese Reitz of Room Decor Alley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reese Reitz.

Reese Reitz

Hi, Reese; thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, you could tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started Room Decor Alley at 14 in my first year of high school. I had learned calligraphy and had always been asked if I would write things for people, and one day, it sparked the idea of my own business. I started far from where I am today by making canvases and doing fun quotes and designs for people to buy. Since then, I have shifted to making a wider variety of products. During COVID, I decided to buy an iPad when there was a trend with the Procreate app and making stickers. I decided to try at stickers; since then, they have been my favorite product. I focus on selling all dishwasher and car-safe stickers for the best quality that you can find. Stickers have been my best sellers for years now, and I always get creative and make new designs. The most recent product of mine that I have been loving is the gameday buttons. These pins are catered to schools and themes that people will buy to represent at sporting events. This has been fun as a college student and has given me a new market to sell to! I always create new products, prepare for launches, and do many in-person in-person, so I am excited to see what is next!

Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It couldn’t ever be a smooth road, but I have been incredibly blessed with the support of people around me. I have often struggled with deciding what products to sell and when finding out what sells for me and the next step for my business. Figuring out what product lines to create and taking the chance to store inventory have been things that I often contemplate. Sometimes, I feel so proud of an item just for it not to sell, and then other times, I feel like I have done my worst work, yet it sells out almost instantly. As a college student, finding the balance between school and running my business has been interesting. I am excited to take my business to the next level, but I must also focus on school and find that balance. This can be tricky during the busy seasons, but it has gotten easier through experience.

Thanks for sharing that. Could you tell us more about your business?
Our main product at Room Decor Alley is our stickers; the reason that our stickers are so popular is their quality. All of our stickers are dishwasher and car-safe. This means they can be used as car decals or fun stickers for your water bottle. With our stickers, the options are endless. Stickers can be used to express your personality on your items. Our brand strives to cultivate your uniqueness and embrace it! We love to create custom products for you and your businesses and provide the variety of options we have on hand for you. Room Decor Alley is the best place for gift giving because you can cater the products you get to your recipient!

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check?
I love to read books and have continuous learning! I take lots of professional recommendations for good books for people in the entrepreneurship industry. I have enjoyed biographies of business owners and success stories and general knowledge books such as The E-Myth by Michael E Gerber or Rich Dad, Poor Dad, another great book!
