Today we’d like to introduce you to Shawn Keim.
Hi Shawn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Raytown South High School 1994, I took my first photography class. From that moment, I fell in love with the film The Darkroom and created something I liked. My goal has always been to take a picture I want in my house.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Going from film to digital was a struggle. And then keeping up has been challenging.
Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I don’t specialize in anything or am known for anything, although others see it differently. Black and white photos are my favorite. I enjoy doing groups and senior photos. I’m most proud of going to friends’ houses; they have my photos framed and up on the wall. What sets me apart from other photographers is what I charge and what people get. I’m very open. I want you to get as many photos as possible for a great price.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I have been the driving force behind my photography. Anton Corbijn has been an inspiration. But, between friends and family referring me, I let my work speak for itself.
