Community Highlights: Meet Julia Wagner of The Piper & Row

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Wagner.

Hi Julia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always had a passion for design and decor from my childhood. My Mom and Grandmother often took me “antiquing” as a little girl. Being on the hunt for beautiful and unique finds was such a thrill! In 2020, when the world shut down, I left the corporate world as a business consultant and stayed home with my two daughters, Piper and Rowan. The following year, we built a home in Overland Park, and I fell in love with making the design selections and decorating our home. Next, we finished our basement, and my passion for the design and decorating process grew. When my daughters both started school, I began decorating our friend’s homes, and the business has grown there!

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like so many others, juggling a small business while raising two young daughters is tough. My business, The Piper & Row, is named after my girls as a reminder that they are my primary motivation. I want to show them that it’s okay to start over entirely and follow your passions in life.

Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The Piper & Row is an Interior Stylist firm located in Overland Park. We specialize in interior decorating, primarily focused on transitional design. We believe in curating spaces that are both beautiful and purposeful. Our social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok) provide home inspiration, home decor styling, simple DIY, and affordable dupes.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting?
As you begin your newest venture, it’s easy to become frustrated some days. If you’re doing what you love, you must persist! Continue to be intentional and consistent with your work; all the hard days will be worth it!
