Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Franchett.
Hi Emily, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Growing up, I found joy in creating a sanctuary for myself and others. Whether it was repainting my room every so often, rearranging furniture in any room I could get my hands on, or restyling my mom’s shelves every time I was dusting (my chore of choice). I followed my passion for becoming an artist throughout college while working in senior relocation and as a luxury estate sale staging manager. However, I decided to marry my two life experiences, painting, and interior design, into the career of my dreams!
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
I have been extremely fortunate on this journey, but there are bumps in any road! I am not an entrepreneur by heart, nor do I have a technical background in interior design, which has opened my eyes to a new world and bag of challenges. This has allowed me to continue being a student for life and cultivate relationships I never would have imagined. I took a leap of faith to follow my passion no matter what challenges came my way. Then again, where is the fun in life without challenges?
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a full-service interior designer and artist by trade. From the pillows on your couch to the tile in your bathroom, I am here to help! I specialize in problem-solving. Every space has almost endless opportunities, and I am here to help my clients find a solution from form to function. I am most proud of my ability to connect. The most important design part is knowing your client and who they are. Since our home reflects us, I work to get to know my clients and allow their character to speak through my work. My superpower is to bring a sense of nostalgia and joy into my client’s home. Joy and nostalgia are major buzzwords because they bring comfort and happiness into your space. My ability to offer my clients custom artwork for that space they can’t fill sets me apart. Custom artwork also gives my clients ownership and a sense of pride in their beautiful homes.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most is that I cultivate long-lasting relationships and leave my clients with a space they feel is 100% theirs. Our homes are where we start and end our day, where we host the people we love, and where we go to decompress; our physical space around us is just as important as our hearts and souls. Everyone deserves to have a sanctuary and ownership of their home; I am just here as a guide for them to execute their dreams.
