Exploring Life & Business with Brittney Gaffney-Butler of Healthy Travel Staffing Agency

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittney Gaffney-Butler.

Hi Brittney, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a registered nurse and have been one for the last 8 years. When the covid pandemic started, I was on light duty and was working in the covid telehealth unit in Seattle, WA, along with a ton of other nurses and doctors, and we were all a part of the covid research team. After I was released from light duty, I decided I wanted to help, so I started taking contract positions at hospitals that needed the most help. Once in the field working covid assignments, I noticed that many healthcare professionals (the facility’s permanent) were burnt out because they were overworked, and the little help they had wasn’t enough or lacked the quality needed. Being the solution-driven individual I am, I decided to become a part of the solution during the pandemic. I started my healthcare staffing agency that only hires qualified individuals who love what they are doing and would also like to be a part of the solution in healthcare facilities.

You wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
Starting and maintaining a healthcare agency has been a challenging road. It has its rewards when you notice that you are making a difference in various healthcare facilities around the United States and individuals’ lives while providing them with traveling opportunities that they may or may not have gotten. I struggled with getting contracts because someone else needed to ask, and you have to ask in this industry. However, I overcame that struggle by not trying to sell this business but by telling my story and background. Once I got a contract, I had to draw in qualified candidates. However, I thank God daily for a great business partner, who also happens to be my husband, because, in the areas where I can’t quite figure things out or have a hard time getting through, he helps me tremendously.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a healthcare staffing agency that provides staffing solutions to healthcare facilities throughout the United States. We seek to become a part of the solution for any facility we partner with in providing them with  the consistent help they need to help their facility run smoothly so that they can continue to serve the communities they are located in. We pride ourselves in providing quality candidates that are top tier and our turnaround time with onboarding is hasty. What sets Healthy Travel Staffing Agency apart from other agencies is how this company operates, represents, showcases and defines the first part of the company’s name, “Healthy,” in every part of our operation. We ensure that our employees/candidates are mentally, physically, and financially healthy. We ensure that we not only sign contracts with facilities that care about our employees and their wellbeing, as we know that healthcare can be taxing mentally and physically. We are also careful not to employ anyone who doesn’t have their patients at the center and shares the same core values as the facilities we contract with. Healthy Travel Staffing Agency is committed and devoted to being a solution to the healthcare shortage in the United States. We are a staffing agency that cares for and encourages the growth and development of other companies, encouraging communication and developing careers. We offer staffing solutions in all 50 states and have employees in all 50 states. We also provide benefits that enable us to attract more candidates and quickly offer staffing solutions to our clients.

What do you think about luck?
I was blessed to come up with this idea and have a supportive partner who helped me push every step of the way. I pass my comfort zone to get to where we are today. Luck has played a tiny part in our life and business. Hard work, dedication, staying focused, pushing through adversity, making tough decisions, and learning to say no have gotten us this far.
