Daily Inspiration: Meet Lindsey Lehmann

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Lehmann.

Hi Lindsey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! My name is Lindsey, and I am the founder of the food page Whisks and Mics. It started as a fun food page because I have always been drawn to cooking and food. It has always been a happy place to create in the kitchen. The name Whisks and Mics was a bit of an “ah ha moment” and included two things I am very passionate about, both cooking (the Whisk) and music & singing (the Mic). While I don’t pursue music, other than recreationally at home, anymore after having my daughter, it was something I still loved enough, and I still loved the name of my food page, so I kept it, and I think it is here to stay. Today alongside my food page, I have an exclusive cooking group called The Table Connect as well, and through that as well as Whisks and Mics, my mission is pretty simple, it isn’t to be an expert at cooking but to share a connection and my care for people through cooking. It is a complete love language for me. I love how it is at the center of many celebrations, lifestyles, cultures, sentimental memories, and aspects of life. It has become my “virtual home,” so to speak. And now, I want to take something that is an everyday chore and share how I romanticize it into my life and enjoy the essence in it, and maybe hopefully, cooking and meal planning will become less of a chore and something to connect over, as well.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Yes and No. It has always been a learning process and still is, and I accept that it always will be, but that is also why I have loved this journey. I’m also a spiritual alignment coach (a little multi-passionate, as some may say.) And so, just mindset and perspective have helped a lot. But luckily, to me, and I’m sure many other enthusiastic home cooks and chefs, will tell you cooking is all about trial and error, and so that is also the beauty of it. To be able to make a mistake after mistake and be able to perfect your craft. It’s an amazing feeling and part of why I love it. Now the technology side of it. I am not a natural born or even a long-time photographer, but it has been a skill set to learn. I continue to learn the clever bits of everything, but in the meantime, I just put my heart and energy into what I am doing and aim to inspire and create an enjoyable space for people to come and learn and be a part of.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Everything from my food page/business to my alignment coaching business is just art or craft. I try to look at it from the “art of business” perspective. I don’t want to put content to put it out because I don’t personally connect with content like that myself. But when I put my soul-led passion into my work, I feel like that connects with people more, the same way when I see another artist, rather it a chef, musician, painter, photographer, you name it, I feel like I can feel the creators passion through the work and so I like to do the same. It is how I can connect with my audience on an authentic level, which is everything to me.

Any big plans?
So many projects on my mind, everything from cooking courses to a podcast that is currently in the works, to hopefully cookbooks after cookbooks, are what I have in mind currently. My ideas are always expanding as a business owner and person, but I hope even after that, I can help and inspire people to start something of their own and do something self-fulfilling.
