Today we’d like to introduce you to Dana Cason.
Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us how you got started?
Well. I started back in 2011 making my jewelry. Folks would stop me when I was out and ask where I purchased my earrings. Once I started making items to sell, I decided to try my hand at vending at the local events around The town. After getting more customers, I created my website to reach outside my home state. Once Covid hit, I had more time to tap into my creativity and make more unique items. With the times changing and people being more open with medical Cannabis around the globe, I started making accessories for those who indulge.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been both bumpy and rewarding at the same time. I’ve made many things and gotten so much great feedback and compliments. I look at the things I’ve made at the beginning and see the things I make now, and I’m so grateful for growth. I love being a creative crafter. There were times I took breaks and wasn’t so sure if doing this full-time was a great idea. But I would be in a bad mood when I wasn’t creating things. Once I was able to find a balance, it helped my creativity take off.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m mostly known as “The earring girl “or “rolling trays girl. “I think I’m set apart from others because I try my best to make things no one else is making. As a creative artist, I get to make whatever I want. It ranges from earrings, rolling trays and other smoking accessories, T-shirts, hair accessories, and more! I want my customers to have one-of-a-kind pieces or very close to them. Although I do love my online customers, I appreciate being able to see and interact with people when I’m out vending at events. I listen to what they may be looking for or if they want something more custom and personal.
We all have different ways of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is about doing what you love and never feeling like a job.
