Check Out Charles Freeman’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charles Freeman.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Charles Freeman aka Official 2C/ 2C, I started performing very early in my career. When I was 7/8 years old, I used to dance and imitate Michael Jackson, pretty much everywhere his music was. In elementary school, I was pretty much known as the Michael Jackson at the school and the other students and parents would still call me that until this day.

As far as making my own music, doing shows, and opening up for big artists such as Young Ma, and Kcamp, I started first writing at 17. The first song I recorded and released was Confess following right behind it, Change Your Life ft Kpeezy. The song Change Your Life gained a lot of social media attention which helped me benefit from some of my earliest shows.

I started doing shows and actually rocking them in 2021! One of my goals was to get in front of 10 different crowds last year, but that exceeded 24 shows, 1 in Atlanta, GA, I also threw my mixtape release party in November. I say that just to say, keep setting goals and working hard to accomplish them, you never know where they can take you.

I started recording myself when the studios started to become overbooked. Also, I travel a lot, so I would always carry my equipment with me, so I could record. I’ve always been musically inclined, I just knew it would take a little time before I was noticed.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I feel like it never really goes as planned. I feel like you gotta be true to yourself and make responsible decisions when you get thrown off your path.

For me, my struggles came with perfecting my own sound. I mean I feel like I don’t sound like any other artist.

It hasn’t been a smooth road altogether. I lost some of my most real supporters, and they were the ones that were close. My grandma knew before she left this Earth, that her grandson was a star.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an Artist. I’m known for being LIT. I used to throw House Parties when I was in Highschool. I do work in the community as far as giving back food, drinks, personal care items, etc.

I’m proud of everything I’ve accomplished and I’m proud of myself. I’m nowhere near where I want to be.

How do you define success?
Success for me is when my whole family is taken care of for life. Success is when I’m at peace with life and I can simply enjoy the things that mean the most.
