Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Hopke.
Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us how you got started?
I began my career as an insurance adjuster. After a couple of years in a position that felt stagnant, I moved on to a national restoration company that gave me the ability to utilize the skills learned as an adjuster to perform restoration or construction work on our commercial client’s buildings. After 4 years of learning the business’s construction side, we agreed to purchase the business I was working for and rebrand it to become PACT Construction Services. 4 years later, we have tripled in revenue and continue growing aggressively in the midwest.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are always struggles when growing at a 35% plus rate. Covid affected us in ways that we did not see coming. Some ways benefited us, such as material lead times or unavailability, which made construction difficult. Staffing projects can be challenging at times, but these are challenges that the industry is dealing with, and overall, I feel we have done better than our peers, allowing us to grow despite the climate.
As you know, we’re big fans of PACT Construction Services. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
We are truly a customer-focused company. Our culture seeks to satisfy the wants and needs of our customer base. In an industry that struggles to keep repeat customers, we do what it takes to ensure they continue to come back to us. We cherish the relationship and value the future of the account rather than the specific job we are on. We do not let our greed get in the way of satisfying a customer. I am most proud of the team that we have built together. Our group respects all aspects of the business and understands the value that each division brings to the table. We do not market as hard as most in our field. We look to get to know our customers and offer all service offerings (restoration, roofing, and renovations) to every customer to maximize our value for them and, in return, their potential for us.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
We value our community and try to support friends and neighbors in any way possible. We have worked with Lees Summit Social Services to donate roofs and exterior paint jobs to citizens needing a hand up. We organize an annual toy drive that donates hundreds of toys to Operation Breakthrough and pitch in any time a client asks for help with a charity that means a lot to them. I am married to my wife (and business partner) Danielle, with 3 boys, Colton, Levi, and Owen (10,6 & 5 months). Every spare moment is spent with them doing things from coaching baseball to fishing, traveling, etc.
