Meet Zach Kohler of Blue Springs, Missouri

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zach Kohler.

Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us how you got started?
I was 22 years old when I was offered an interview to clean carpet professionally, and I was not entirely sure I wanted to do this, but I sat down with the owner of the company and the man who ended up being my mentor for this journey. I was given an excellent opportunity to be an apprentice; if earned, I would be allowed to operate in my van daily. I went into this adventure eager to learn and excited. I was in my van within around a month with the chance to achieve the full title of a carpet cleaning technician. I gained the carpet cleaning technician title within a year due to significant help, guidance, and coaching from my mentor and co-workers. After cleaning carpets for a while I knew I eventually wanted to branch out on my own one day. I always felt I wanted to be able to step into the residential cleaning field and offer high-quality professional cleaning to people that would better the health of their homes. About 7 years later, and with life throwing many obstacles at me, we were blessed to have the chance to start PowerClean Homes KC. We are just an average four-person family trying to provide an exceptional service to our community. We are deeply rooted in the Kansas City area and take great pride in our service to the families in it by taking the utmost care in our work.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest obstacles to starting PowerClean Homes KC was getting in the right position in life, having the means to acquire the proper equipment, and having the faith to push me to try to accomplish my dream. I was always taught that nothing worth having or doing in life comes easily; I proved this a fact by starting PowerClean Homes KC. Getting people to trust me to complete the work I know I am capable of is always a challenge. I am often given the challenge of turning carpets people intend to throw away into like new or nearly new condition, and I love to do it. It is the best feeling to give people a cleaner and healthier living environment for their families while saving them money by not having to put in new carpets.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
