Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Prier.
Hi Michelle, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised Mexican. I married a guy from Kansas and have 5 children that are being raised in Leawood, Kansas.
It is important to me for them to be proud of their Mexican heritage and to never lose connection to that side of them. We decided to build 5 homes in Tulum, Mexico after them and for them to have in the future.
I have experience doing Vacation rentals in Playa del Carmen Mexico and have been successful so we decided to also add this property to our Vacation Rental business. I believe I’m successful because I’m passionate about Mexico and love to show people the beauty in my native country.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Having this property has been a lot of fun but after we built them COVID hit, leaving us with a lot of unknowns.
After the borders opened we went from 0 to 100 and that was a struggle as we didn’t have much personnel. We managed to run a successful business despite our shortage of staff.
I’m proud to say that I have over 500+ five-star reviews. Through these challenging times, I learned to understand our clients and provide them with what they needed.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I consider myself now an expert in the hospitality business.
I manage and run a total of 9 vacation properties in Playa del Carmen and Tulum. I cater specifically to every single client’s needs. I try to understand the purpose of their trip and make their wishes come true.
I am proud to say that everyone that I host leaves happy and with their expectations met. I have over 550 5-star reviews on airbnb which are not easy to get.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was making road trips with my family through every single state in Mexico.
Appreciating the richness and the beauty of this country.
