Life & Work with Jehry Robinson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jehry Robinson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Music has always been a part of me from a young age growing up in NY you see everything from people playing drums on buckets on the street to the guitar on the subway.

I started out in my mom’s basement re-writing my own songs to instrumentals of already popular songs when I was 15.

However, I didn’t really start to take it seriously until forming Famous By Association Management with my now fiancée & manager Tara Ennis. Tara is the brightest light & most pure form of inspiration in my life.

Her ability to see a vision & follow-through is elite level, she is quickly becoming one of the most iconic CEOs & music managers in the industry & I am beyond honored for the opportunity to get to work alongside her greatness daily.

After gaining some success with FBA management back in New York we eventually made the move to Kansas City & signed an incredible deal with Tech N9ne’s strange music.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not, I don’t think anything worth doing is going to be a perfectly smooth road. Trials and contributions will always be at the forefront.

You must learn to adapt at all times & survive. I used to work for a paycheck & still find the time to put countless hours into mastering my craft. Been broke, homeless, hungry, and still maintained the fire to keep pushing through.

You have to know your vision and go at it relentlessly.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I create music that fuses all genres & could be enjoyed by anyone, I have no limitations or a specialty I just create what comes out of me and unapologetically release it to the world.

I’m known for breaking boundaries as far as musical genres & making my own unique sound. I would say the thing I’m most proud of is reaching the top 10 on the iTunes Charts on both of my most recent projects.

What I believe sets me apart is my ability to chameleon myself to whatever situation I am in and relate to people, whether that be musically or just on a personal level.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe you have to take risks to warrant new results.

There’s a famous quote “nothing changes if nothing changes” some times you have to risk it all from humiliation to financial ruin on your way to obtaining your vision or goal.

I’ve never met anyone who has achieved anything great that hasn’t taken major risks.
