Today we’d like to introduce you to Bree Willard.
Hi Bree, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to today?
I was a stay-at-home mom to a one-year-old little girl, and I knew I wanted to do more, but I just wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. My husband talked me into buying a Cricut vinyl cutter because he knew I liked to craft, and there were many different things I could make and sell using a Cricut. So I got the Cricut, and then I started making graphic t-shirts and was selling 5-10 shirts a month. Fast forward a year, I stopped using my Cricut and started using screen print transfers, and I invested in a printer that allows me to print my designs to put on shirts. I’m now selling about 500 shirts on average a month!
Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been super hard, but it hasn’t been easy. Finding the time to work on shirts, creating new designs for shirts, being a stay-at-home mom, and managing my time with my family have probably been one of my biggest struggles. I’m still trying to give myself a set schedule for work and family time, but it’s hard to stop working when you love what you do.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make and sell graphic shirts! I don’t specialize in any specific designs. I offer a wide variety of designs, although Kansas City designs are my favorite! I have just recently started designing my designs, and I can’t wait to see them on shirts being worn across the country! I’ve been in business for almost 2 years now, and I am shipping all across the United States!
What does success mean to you?
Success is when you are proud of who you are and what you are doing. Success doesn’t have anything to do with how much money I make. Going to the grocery store and seeing people wearing the shirts I made makes me feel successful. If you set a goal for yourself and achieve that goal, you are successful!
