Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Winkler.
Hi Hannah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I make charcuterie boards, but make them CUTE! Growing up during family get-togethers, there was always someone who would bring a “charcuterie board” of some sort. I personally would never eat them, but I thought they looked so fun to make!
I made my first charcuterie board in November of 2019 and it was a hit! Someone had mentioned that I should start making more of them and two years later, in March of 2021, I created a business. I truly thought that no one would order from me (besides my family anyways), but it has come so incredibly far and way bigger than I could have ever expected.
I think it is crazy that people are asking ME to collaborate. Now here I am catering weddings, graduations, collaborating with businesses, doing pop-up events, and having a booth at Hotel Indigo for First Fridays in the Crossroads.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I currently work a full-time job as well as running Charcuterie Boards, so balancing time can sometimes be a challenge.
I work at Comprehensive Mental Health as a Behavioral Health Clinician with a Master’s Degree in social work. I have a huge passion for mental health.
For me, making charcuterie boards is a form of therapy, it really gets me in touch with my creative side! I do my best to excel at my full-time day job and build/grow my business, while also taking time for self-care.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something surprising that most people don’t know about me is that I actually do not enjoy eating charcuterie boards! I typically do not eat cold cheeses or meats, it is just not my thing. Although I love making my charcuterie boards, I choose to not eat them.
